Terms of service

Effective August 1, 2026

These terms govern the use of Lisano — the app and this website.

Who contracts with whom

The provider is Sebastian Grunow, Am Kreuzgarten 18, 41334 Nettetal, Deutschland, reachable at info@lisano.app. The other party is you, as the person using it.

The contract comes about when you create an account. Until then, neither of us owes the other anything.

Minimum age

Use requires a minimum age of 16 years. Anyone younger may not use Lisano.

Your age is not verified, and no date of birth is asked for. This is a contractual condition, not a technical mechanism.

Trial period

The trial runs seven days from the moment you create your account. During that time the voice and AI features are open to you; after that Lisano falls back to manual use.

That is how the trial ends: not with an invoice, but with fewer features. You go on writing and reading, while the voice and AI features rest. No paid subscription begins by itself.

Subscription

If you want more than manual use, you can take out a subscription. There are several tiers, differing in how many voice minutes each billing period includes and which AI features are open.

Instead of the included voice minutes you can supply your own API key and use the speech service on your own account. You then settle with that provider rather than with me.

Prices are shown at the point of purchase, immediately before you buy. They are not part of these terms, so that a price change does not arrive dressed as a change to the contract text.

Term, renewal, cancellation

A subscription runs for the term stated at purchase. It renews for the same term again unless someone cancels it.

You can cancel at any time with effect from the end of the current term. The cancellation takes effect when that term expires; until then you keep everything you paid for.

Payment

The channel you buy through may act as the seller (merchant of record). If it does, it handles payment, refunds and cancellation of the subscription under its own terms, which apply alongside these terms. Which channel that is, you see at the point of purchase.

Right of withdrawal

You can withdraw from this contract within 14 days without giving reasons. The period starts when the contract is concluded.

A clear statement is enough to withdraw. Send it by email to info@lisano.app or by post to Sebastian Grunow, Am Kreuzgarten 18, 41334 Nettetal, Deutschland. There is no form, and you do not have to use one.

I hereby withdraw from the contract I concluded for a subscription to Lisano. Ordered on: [date]. Name: [your name]. Email address of the account: [your address]. Date: [today].

If you want the service to start straight away

If you expressly ask for the service to begin before the withdrawal period is over, you lose your right of withdrawal once the service has been fully performed. Until that point it stands, and if you withdraw you pay only for what you used up to then.

What you get, and what you do not

I run Lisano to the best of my ability and make a reasonable effort to keep it available. I promise no particular availability: Lisano is run by one person, and a promise I cannot keep at three in the morning would be decoration rather than a promise.

There will be maintenance windows, faults and outages. If something is down for any length of time, I will notify you by email.

Liability

I am liable without limit for intent and gross negligence, for injury to life, body or health, and under the German Product Liability Act (Produkthaftungsgesetz).

For ordinary negligence I am liable only where an essential contractual obligation is breached — an obligation you are entitled to rely on because the contract does not work without it. In that case liability is limited to the foreseeable damage typical of this kind of contract.

Otherwise liability is excluded.

Your content stays yours

What you write remains yours. I claim no rights in it beyond what is needed to store your entries and show them back to you.

When your subscription ends or the trial expires, your diary entries and todos stay readable and editable. They are not locked and not deleted. What rests are the AI features and voice input — that is, the part that is paid for, and not the part you wrote yourself.

Termination by me

I can terminate the contract on 30 days' notice, for instance if I discontinue Lisano. Before such a termination you will get your content in a common format to take with you.

In the event of a serious breach of these terms I can terminate immediately.

Changes to these terms

I can change these terms where there is a reason to — new features, or a change in the law. I will notify you of the change by email at least six weeks beforehand. If you do not object, the new version applies from the date given; if you do object, the contract ends on that date.

Law and language

German law applies. Mandatory consumer protection rules of the country you live in are unaffected.

These terms exist in German and in English. Where the two versions diverge, the German version prevails.
